How to Relocate a Toilet

How to Move a Toilet With Toilet Kart

Installing and repairing toilets has always been some of the more daunting tasks for a plumber or maintenance engineer. Toilets are heavy and clunky, making them awkward and oftentimes unsafe to move by hand, especially if you’re trying to do the job alone.

Pipe-Tytes created the Toilet Kart for this reason. It’s a simple and efficient tool that answers the old question of how to move a toilet safely and without hassle. Here are our steps:

Step 1. Preparing the Toilet

  • Remove the tank lid to avoid damage during transportation.
  • Ensure the water is turned off, flush, and drain the water.
  • Loosen/remove all necessary bolts and pieces.

Step 2. Securing the Toilet Kart

  • Position the Toilet Kart on top of the toilet. The frame should rest on the middle of the toilet bowl, and the wheels should be off the ground.
  • Ensure that all 3 clamps rest underneath the rim of the bowl. Important: The bottom side of rim should be non-sloping.
  • Secure the left and right clamps by tightening the silver knob first.
  • Rotate the black knobs on the left, right, and top clamps to further secure the toilet.

Step 3. Transport the Toilet

  • The toilet can be lifted once the clamps are snug and in place. Rotate the crank at the top of the Toilet Kart clockwise. This will slowly lift the toilet off the ground.
  • Once you’ve reached your desired height, you can push the Toilet Cart around or tilt it backward onto its wheels to move it around, similar to a dolly.
