How to Move a Toilet With Toilet Kart

Whether you’re moving a toilet to repair, replace, or remodel, the task of move a toilet has often left plumbers, maintenance engineers, remodelers, and even homeowners frustrated and in pain. Toilets are not only heavy but are also clunky or have a shape that’s difficult to find a grip to lift, especially if you’re trying to do the job by yourself.

You can save yourself time and potentially your back by using the Toilet Kart, which we designed to address the problem of how to move a toilet safely and efficiently. Here’s our quick guide on using the Toilet Kart and general tips for moving your toilet:

Step 1. Preparing the Toilet

  • Remove the tank lid to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Drain the water as best you can.
  • Loosen all necessary bolts.

Step 2. Setting Up the Toilet Kart

  • Place the Toilet Kart on top of the toilet so that the frame rest on the middle of the bowl with the wheels off of the ground.
  • Position all 3 clamps so that they rest underneath the rim of the bowl.
  • Secure the left and right clamps by tightening the silver knob first.
  • Then rotate the black knobs on the left, right, and top clamps to further secure the toilet.

Step 3. Moving the Toilet

  • Once your clamps are in place, the toilet is ready to be lifted. Rotate the crank at the top of the Toilet Kart clockwise to lift the toilet slowly off the ground.
  • From here, you can simply push the Toilet Cart or tilt it backward, supported by the wheels, to transport it over rough or bumpy ground.
